I have to admit, I’m kind of rooting for HP, the TouchPad, and the webOS. Apple needs strong competitors in the tablet market to help push things forward, and I think companies with control of both hardware and software are more likely to produce high-quality products. For year,s I’ve wondered why nobody was trying to replicate some of Apple’s product-creation success, and that’s exactly what HP is doing with its webOS strategy.

Sony Xperia Play for the Gaming Fan

Anyone that owns a PlayStation will be excited to know that the much-anticipated Sony Xperia Play is finally here!  After what seems like many months of rumours reporting various release dates, it has now finally arrived in store.

On first glance, the Sony Xperia Play appears to offer a similar design to that of the many other smartphones on the market, however when the device is pulled apart a gaming pad is revealed.  This gaming pad offers the infamous four buttons that are seen on the PlayStation controller and allows users to partake in an assortment of games whilst out and about.

PureGear DualTek for iPhone 4 video review

PureGear’s DualTek for iPhone 4 is shock and impact-resistant case for Apple’s latest. It’s sort of a cross between a bumper and a full-on case. It leaves the iPhone 4 aesthetic largely intact by slapping protective film on the front and a rigid back on, well, the back. It offers reasonably rugged protection around the outside of your phone and claims impact protection from drops of up to five feet. You’ll forgive us if we don’t independently verify this claim…

The XP30 is a keenly priced and stylish addition to the burgeoning tough compact market. Easy to use and thoughtfully laid out in terms of controls it’s capable of decent, if not great, results. The addition of GPS functionality is a fun, if somewhat battery depleting, feature too. Our only real concerns are with lens sharpness and image noise. It’s to be hoped that the next model in the series will address these issues by dropping the megapixel count down to something more manageable.
